We need to connect with your email account In order for Cubby to be able to find messages from contacts that you add that relate to your school, sports and activities.
To ensure safety this is currently done through something called an App Password. An App Password is a one time password that your email provider provides so that third party services like Cubby can connect in the most secure way.
Google
If you use Gmail by Google, go to the App Password page - https://myaccount.google.com/apppasswords. You will need to have 2-Step Verification turned on, which is a good idea regardless. Each app password created in Google is only usable once and can be revoked by you at any time. Furthermore, if you ever change your main email password the app password is then invalid and a new one would need to be recreated.
Microsoft
Microsoft has currently discontinued the use of App Passwords. We expect to have an alternative authentication option for Microsoft accounts in October of 2024. If you use Hotmail, Live, MSN or Outlook email from Microsoft please check back soon.
